As 2025 begins with a bang for crime drama fans, here are my top three pics to stream: Protection a fast-paced cop drama with the always brilliant Siobhan Finneran as a witness protection officer; The Agency, a present day international spy thriller which starts off very slow and very confusing, but oh boy is it worth it to stick with this one – absolutely one of the best shows of the year with superb acting by an all-star cast (Richard Gere, Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith); and finally, a rare, truly excellent and authentic American cop / drug world / crime drama! Set on Cape Cod, Hightown (Season 3) and its eclectic cast of characters including hard partying state cop Jackie Quiñones will draw you in from the very first minute. Also worth your time is Season 2 of the totally original psychological sci-fi thriller Severance now out on Apple TV. And we get Season 2 of The Night Agent on Netflix. Happy binging!
