This Week: ITV’s New Cop Drama Starring Rose Ayling-Ellis
This week, ITV / BritBox drops highly anticipated series Code of Silence (18 May). The bold new six-part crime thriller stars EastEnders alum Rose Ayling-Ellis in a groundbreaking lead role. The series follows police canteen worker Alison Brooks, a sharp and observant deaf woman whose hidden talent for lip-reading lands her deep inside a high-stakes police operation. As she infiltrates a dangerous gang from the inside, the lines between duty and danger blur—especially when an unexpected connection with a key suspect threatens to unravel everything. With a cast that includes Charlotte Ritchie, Andrew Buchan, and Kieron Moore, and created by Catherine Moulton, Code of Silence promises a fresh, emotional take on crime drama.
Over on Apple TV, just two more episodes remain of brilliant Jon Hamm crime drama series, Your Friends & Neighbors: Detective Lin finds evidence at the crime scene. Coop pressures Kat. Chivo forces Elena into a difficult situation.
Also new on Apple TV is Suspicion starring Uma Thurman. If you haven’t watched this series yet it – you definitely want to. Four ordinary Brits are accused of kidnapping the son of a prominent US media mogul; they embark on a desperate race against time to prove their innocence, but they may not be believed — and they may not be telling the truth.

Harry Wild – Acorn TV – 5 May
Harry Wild returns for season four with a two-episode premiere. Starring Jane Seymour, the new season follows Harry and Fergus as their detective agency faces fresh mysteries—including a case involving Harry’s son, a secretive dance school, and a deadly literary tour—while Fergus’ future is thrown into doubt when Lola considers studying abroad.

Based on another novel from Liane Moriarty — the author behind the Big Little Lies miniseries — The Last Anniversary — is being billed as “a wickedly funny, heartfelt dramedy wrapped in a gripping mystery about family, motherhood and the women who define the generations that come after them’’. It’s her first book to be set in Australia.
