Industry: January’s S4 Teases Ruthless Power Shift in HBO Finance Thriller

Yes we’ll all really miss Harry Lawty’s Robert — but Ken Leung’s Eric Tao is back and more ruthless than ever along with emerging stars Myha’la and Marisa Abela, who appear to be quickly following in his shady footsteps. When Industry first burst onto HBO, it distinguished itself as a fresh and sexy TV drama, focused on the entry-level grind in London’s financial scene, and praised for its realistic portrayal of a toxic, erotic — and dark — high-stakes trading, banking, and investment culture.

At the center of the storm in Season 4 are Harper (Myha’la) and Yasmin (Marisa Abela) —both now financial power players in their own right. Their relationship, once rooted in trainee mutual survival, now seems headed toward outright implosion. The new season positions them on opposing sides of a financial battle involving disruptive fintech company Tender that threatens to destabilize the old power structures.

The new players circling the narrative — include Game of ThronesKit Harington — who we met last season as the dangerously wild entrepreneur Henry Muck, now in a marriage of convenience with Yasmin. Also back (surprisingly) is Sagar Radia (Rishi Ramdani) — who paid a deadly price for his reckless behaviour in Season 3. Miriam Petche (Sweetpea Golightly) — also returns and is not to be under-estimated..

New cast members include Charlie Heaton (playing a journalist), Mad Men’s all-grown-up Kiernan Shipka (Tender’s PA), and Max Minghella (Tender co-founder Whitney Halberstram). Visually and tonally, Industry Season 4 leans into chaos. The sleek city offices and ultra-luxury settings contrast sharply with moments of emotional collapse, reinforcing the idea that wealth doesn’t insulate — it amplifies damage. The absence of Harry Lawtey’s character signals a shift away from innocence altogether, leaving behind characters who fully understand the cost of their actions and proceed anyway.

As the series returns to HBO’s prestige lineup, Industry now feels closer to a financial crime saga than ever before — especially after the shocking and deadly end to Season 3. Power is the currency, trust is expendable, and ambition comes with a body count — even if it’s measured in ruined lives rather than chalk outlines. Season 4 promises not just high stakes, but irreversible consequences, proving once again that the most dangerous crimes don’t always happen in the dark.
