This week’s crime drama picks include the highly anticipated new Nicole Kidman forensic adaptation, a twist-filled friendship mystery with another big name — and a neo-Western drama set in the expanding Yellowstone universe.

Scarpetta (Prime Video, 11 March)
The wait is over! Based on Patricia Cornwell’s bestselling novels, Scarpetta stars Nicole Kidman as forensic pathologist Dr. Kay Scarpetta and Jamie Lee Curtis as her complicated sister Dorothy, with the story unfolding across two timelines from Scarpetta’s beginnings as chief medical examiner in the late 1990s to her present-day murder case. The cast also includes Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker and Ariana DeBose.

Paradise Season 2 (Disney+, Available now)
Set in a seemingly idyllic community built for some of the world’s most powerful people, Paradise quickly shatters the illusion of safety when a shocking murder triggers a high-stakes investigation. The hit thriller stars Sterling K. Brown as Secret Service agent Xavier Collins, who becomes entangled in the mystery surrounding the death of the U.S. president, played by James Marsden, uncovering a web of secrets and power struggles within the community. As the story unfolds, the series blends political intrigue with survival drama, revealing that the town is actually part of a vast underground bunker built after a catastrophic global event. Bring on Season 2 as new secrets about the city’s origins come to light.

The Madison (14 March, Paramount+)
Produced by Taylor Sheridan, The Madison stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell as part of a wealthy New York family who relocate to Montana’s Madison River valley after a devastating tragedy. Set within the Yellowstone universe and also featuring Matthew Fox, Patrick J. Adams and Will Arnett, the series focuses on grief, reinvention and human connection in a rugged landscape.

Imperfect Women (Apple TV+, 18 March)
Adapted from the novel by Araminta Hall, Imperfect Women centres on three close friends whose lives are shattered when one of them turns up dead, exposing secrets and fractures within their seemingly perfect friendship. The series stars Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington, Kate Mara and Leslie Odom Jr, with Moss and Washington also serving as executive producers on the twist-filled thriller.
