WHAT TO WATCH: BEST NEW CRIME DRAMAS (7-14 APR)


This week’s crime drama lineup offers a dark comedy and new seasons of critically acclaimed dramas, Beef and Turn of the Tide, highlighting how quickly ordinary lives can unravel, with stories that turn quiet town calm, personal rivalry and sudden opportunity into something far more sinister.

The Burbs (Sky One / NOW, 1 April 2026)
Inspired by the 1989 film, The Burbs stars Keke Palmer and Jack Whitehall as a couple who move into a seemingly ordinary suburban neighbourhood that quickly unravels when a mysterious new neighbour arrives. Blending dark comedy with mystery, the series has been compared to Only Murders in the Building, using humour and suspicion to expose what really goes on behind closed doors.

Beef – Season 2 (Netflix, 16 April 2026)
Netflix’s anthology hit Beef returns with a brand-new story led by Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan, shifting from a personal feud to a wider clash involving rival couples competing for power and influence at an exclusive country club. Expanding its focus on anger, ego and consequence, the new season promises a more complex and explosive web of conflict.

Turn of the Tide — Season 3 (Netflix, 10 April 2026 )
Portuguese crime drama Turn of the Tide returns with José CondessaHelena CaldeiraRodrigo Tomás and André Leitão, continuing the story of a group of friends whose lives are transformed when a shipment of cocaine washes ashore in their small Azorean village.
