The return of Alan Ritchson’s Reacher headlines another strong week for crime drama, alongside a new London-set police thriller starring Nick Blood and a French import exploring corruption, power and justice. Plus we get must-watch seductive teen drama The Shards. Here are the crime dramas landing on screens this week.

The Shards (FX, Available now)

Based on Bret Easton Ellis’s acclaimed bestselling novel, seriously addictive The Shards is a stylish psychological thriller that blends coming-of-age drama, erotic suspense and serial-killer mystery against the backdrop of 1981 Los Angeles. The story follows a fictionalised Bret, an aspiring writer attending an elite prep school, whose privileged circle of wealthy, glamorous friends spends its days navigating identity, sex, jealousy and obsession amid the excesses of the era. The cast includes celebrity offspring Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere, alongside a young ensemble (Evan Rachel Wood, pop singer Hayes Warner). The arrival of Robert Mallory (Gere), a charismatic and enigmatic new student, coincides with a string of murders committed by a serial killer known as The Trawler.

Reacher – Season 4 (Prime Video, 12 August 2026)

TV’s favourite drifter returns for another action-packed outing as Alan Ritchson reprises his role as Jack Reacher. Based on Gone Tomorrow, the 13th novel in Lee Child’s bestselling series, the new season begins when a chance encounter with a distressed woman on a New York subway pulls Reacher into a deadly conspiracy involving powerful figures operating at the highest levels. Expect the usual blend of razor-sharp one-liners, bone-crunching action and a hero who never backs down, no matter how dangerous the opposition.

Hit Point (U&Dave, U&W and U&Drama, 13 August 2026)

The first original scripted drama from U&Dave follows detectives Leo and Bella as they investigate the theft of millions of pounds in West London. Starring Nick Blood (Slow Horses) and Saffron Hocking (Top Boy), the series quickly pulls its leads into London’s criminal underworld, where loyalties shift, betrayals mount and the line between professional duty and personal involvement begins to blur. Fast-paced and gritty, Hit Point looks set to deliver a fresh take on the modern police thriller.

Everybody Lies (Channel 4 / Walter Presents, 14 August 2026)

This four-part French crime thriller introduces Vincent, a former police officer whose career was derailed after he pursued a powerful and well-connected suspect. Given a second chance as part of a newly formed Sensitive Cases Unit, Vincent must work alongside a team of investigators tackling complex and politically sensitive crimes. However, his instinct to push boundaries and challenge authority may prove just as dangerous as the cases themselves. Packed with intrigue, corruption and moral ambiguity, Everybody Lies promises the kind of intelligent European crime drama that Walter Presents has become known for
